ITINERARY

DAY 1

  • At 08:30 h, transfer to Nauta port to board the cruise and accommodation of passengers in their cabins. We will sail the waters of Maranon River to its confluence with the Ucayali River and then along the Amazon River. The lunch will be on the terrace of the ship.
  • There will be an excursion by dinghy to observe different species of birds along the narrow Yarapa River, besides go hiking within the National Reserve of Pacaya Samiria, where you will know the Victoria amazonica, the largest one of the Nymphaeaceae family of water lilies and some birds such as the shanshos (Opisthocomus hoazin).
  • Dinner and rest aboard.

DAY 2

  • After breakfast there will be an excursion to enjoy the dawn of wildlife with a specialized local guide in medicinal plants. Near to the lagoon, there will be a possibility to see some monkeys and birds. We will visit to the comunity Nauta Caño by bote in the National Reserve of Pacaya Samiria where the park ranger of the National Reserve will explain you about the management plan of using the different species in the area. There will be an excursion on foot or by dinghy to explore the incredible biodiversity of the reserve.
  • Dinner and rest aboard.

DAY 3

  • Breakfast aboard. We will arrive at the confluence of the Maranon and Pucate rivers where it will be possible to observe gray and pink dolphins. Visit the Cocama community of Veinte de Enero, where oil of aguaje is produced. Aguaje is the fruit of the Moriche tree (Mauritia flexuosa).
  • Lunch aboard. There will be optional activities such as swimming near dolphins, piranha fishing, bird watching or activities with the village children.
  • Dinner and rest aboard near to the entrance of the National Reserve.

DAY 4

  • Breakfast aboard. We will sail to Cocha San Jacinto where the park rangers will explain us about the conservation work of the different species of plants and fishes. We will go hiking through the forest of giant trees and we will take a canoe ride across the lagoon to discover the amazing biodiversity of the area. At night, there will be an optional walk to find reptiles and tarantulas.
  • Dinner and rest aboard.

DAY 5

  • Breakfast aboard. Arrive at Fundo Casual, plot of primary forest, to see giant trees and numerous species of tropical frogs. The inhabitants will expose and sell their handicrafts. Return to the ship to have lunch and then sail to Nauta port. The arrival will be around 15:00 hours.
  • Transfer to the airport or to your hotel.

Do not wait a travel partner. Only a few people dare to leave the comfort zone but remember the real rewards are abroad.
