ITINERARY

DAY 1

  • At 06:00 h, a member of our staff is going to pick you up from your hotel or the bus station.
  • At 08:00 h, breakfast.
  • Depart to the lagoon of Llanganuco. On the way, we are going to visit the villages of Carhuaz and Yungay. This last one disappeared during the 1970 earthquake.
  • Arrive at the well-known lagoon as Llanganuco which is so beautiful for its turquoise color.
  • Depart to Yungay village where we will have for lunch traditional and delicious dishes.
  • Depart to Caraz village where we will stop for a while to visit the Plaza and it is also possible to try and buy some blancmange that is prepared there.
  • The last stop will be in Taricá, a small town, where it is possible to buy some handicraft.
  • Return to Huaraz city.
  • Transfer to the hotel.

DAY 2

  • At 08:00 h, breakfast.
  • Depart to visit the Archaeological site of Chavin. On the way, you will visit the cave of San Patricio to then reach Catac Ticapampa. It will be taken the road that will lead you to the Callejon de Conchucos. Stop at the Laguna Querococha (13057 ft.). You will go through the Cordillera Blanca passing for the Callejon of Huaylas up to get the tunnel of Cahuish (14599 ft.) to then descend for picturesque villages up to reach Chavin where is the famous Lanzon Monolitico, the Cabezas Clavas, the Plaza Cuadrada, the Round Plaza and the museum.
  • Lunch.
  • Return to Huaraz city.

DAY 3

  • At 08:00 h, breakfast.
  • Depart to Pastoruri, following the same route to Chavin up to Catac passing for Pachacoto where is the check point of the National Park of Huascaran and of the Lagoon of Patococha.
  • There will be a stop at Pumapashimin, a waterhole that changes colors depending on the position of the sun besides it will be possible to know the Puya Raimondi, which can measure 8 to 12 meters high, has about 10,000 flowers, more than 12 million seeds and only flourishes once in its life cycle.
  • Arrival at the parking area.
  • Go trekking to the base of the glacier Pastoruri (it takes about one hour). It will be possible to visit the frozen lagoon that is very close to the glacier.
  • Return to Huaraz city.
  • At 21.30 h, transfer from the hotel to the bus station.
  • 22:00 h, departure to Lima city.

Do not wait a travel partner. Only a few people dare to leave the comfort zone but remember the real rewards are abroad.
