Arequipa is a region that has many places to visit. We invite you to explore its attractions making a combination between traditional and new to explore. In both options you will know about architecture, natural landscapes, living culture and adventure. Start your tour of the white city, knowing its colonial and republican buildings.

 

Another attraction included, is the National Reserve of Salinas and Aguada Blanca, where you will see South American camelids in their natural habitat, as well as rock formations of nature and the salt lagoon where you can appreciate the Andean flamingos among other birds. This tour also will take you to the Colca Canyon where you will see the condor flying in the mountains and to continue with the Andean landscape we will go towards the Valley of the Volcanoes; this area has been the center of convulsions of the volcanic mountain range that have led to the outbreak of numerous volcanoes with heights of 10 and 300 meters. Another destination on the route is Orcopampa, where we will visit the frozen fall of Panagua besides we will have time to relax in the hot spring of Huancarama. Continuing the adventure, we will reach the region of Cusco, where we will visit Suyckutambo”; it is a point at which converge the throats of three rivers Apurimac, Callumani and Cerritambo to join in and create the Great Apurimac River. Finally we will visit the Archaeological Complex of Raqchi and then we will reach the imperial city of Cusco.

ITINERARY

DAY 1: Arequipa city

  • Transfer from airport to hotel and accommodation.
  • Visit to the Plaza de Armas, the Cathedral, San Ignacio chapel, church and cloisters of the Company, Santa Catalina monastery and the spinning mill and interpretation center camelids.
  • Dinner and rest.

DAY 2: Arequipa – Salinas and Aguada Blanca National Reserve – Chivay

  • At 06:00 h, the guide will pick you up from the hotel.
  • Depart to the National Reserve of Salinas and Aguada Blanca where we will visit the salt lagoon and we will observe the Andean flamingos (Andean flamingo) among others birds. Also, there are South American camelids and the forest of rocks. On the way, it will be possible to do an optional visit to the Interpretation Centre Toccra to know about the importance of the Reserve. We will stop at the Mirador of the Volcanoes to observe the Cordillera del Ampato (4910 m.a.s.l.).
  • Arrive to Chivay where the tourist ticket is controled. After it, we will have lunch to then go to our hotel. In the afternoon, we will go to the hot spring.
  • Dinner and rest.

DAY 3: Chivay - viewpoint Cruz del Cóndor – Cabanaconde - Andagua

  • At 06:00 h, breakfast.
  • Depart to the viewpoint of the Cruz del Condor. Along the way, we will visit the villages of Yanque, Maca and the viewpoint of Choquetico. Arrive at Cruz del Condor where we will see the Colca Canyon and the flight of the condor (Vultur gryphus). After it, we will depart to Cabanaconde where we will have a short break to then continue to Andagua passing for Huambo and Ayo, where short stops will also be made. We will have a snack on the way.
  • Arrive in Andagua and accommodation at the hostel.
  • Dinner and rest.

DAY 4: Andagua – Preinca Ruins of Antaymarca – viewpoint of Ucuya in Soporo - Orcopampa – Panagua – Huancarama

  • At 06:30 h, breakfast.
  • Depart to the viewpoint of Ucuya which has a privileged view of the volcanoes. To reach this point we will pass through the ruins of Antaymarca that belongs to early Collagua culture. From the viewpoint, we will observe the twin volcanoes Huanacaure and Kanalla – Mauras an extinct volcano which crater is used to do traditional activities during the most important holidays of the village.
  • Depart to Orcopampa; it will take us about 90 minutes. Arrive in and accommodation at the hostel.
  • Visit to the frozen waterfalls in Panagua. This is a marvelous place of the nature. We will stay for one hour approximately.
  • After lunch, it will be possible to visit the hot spring of Huancarama and be there the rest of the afternoon.
  • Dinner and rest.

DAY 5: Orcopampa – Suyckutambo – Espinar

  • At 05:00 h, depart to Suyckutambo. On the way, we will have a short break in Caylloma.
  • Arrive at Suyckutambo. It is a point at which converge the Apurimac, Callumani and Cerritambo rivers to join and form the Great Apurimac River. It consists of mountains which have curious rock formations made by erosion.
  • Arrive in Yauri where we will have lunch and accommodation at the hostel.
  • Dinner and rest.

DAY 6: Espinar – Sicuani – Cusco

  • At 06:00 h, breakfast.
  • Depart to Cusco. On the way, we will visit the archaeological complex of Raqchi, highlights the Wiracocha temple, archaeological site dating from the fifteenth century. Here we will have a short break to have a snack.
  • Arrive in Cusco.
  • Transfer to the hotel.
  • Dinner and rest.

DAY 7: Itinerary

  • Breakfast.
  • Free morning.
