Visit one of the most impressive and natural attractions of Peru, The National Park of Manu. It is located in the provinces of Paucartambo in Cusco and Manu in Madre de Dios. Connect with nature, in one of the most important areas of the planet for its mega-diversity of biological species. Enjoy the boating at night, feeling the voices of the forest; a unique experience of living in a natural wonder.

ITINERARY

This option is with roundtrip air transportation.

DAY 1

  • At 10:00 h, departure from Cusco to Puerto Maldonado (40 minutes by flight). Upon your arrival, you will be lead to the hostal. After that, city tour and visit to the Serpentarium.
  • Dinner and rest at the lodge.

DAY 2

  • Breakfast.
  • Depart to Boca Manu by bus. After, we will change transport to navigate the river Alto Madre de Dios where we will observe of a big variety of birds, such as herons, kingfishers, vultures of which the most spectacular is the condor of the jungle (Sarcoramphus papa).
  • Arrive at the hostel. During the evening, there will be an optional walk.
  • Dinner and rest at the lodge.

DAY 3

  • Breakfast.
  • Depart to Cocha Otorongo. On the way, you will observe turtles, white caimans (Caiman crocodylus) or maybe some capybaras (Hydrochaeris). Upon your arrival, you will visit the lake and the observation tower to see giant river otters.
  • Dinner and rest at the camp. It is a platform with roof, toilet and shower.

DAY 4

  • Breakfast.
  • Depart to Cocha Salvador by boat for 30 minutes. On the way, we will observe giant river otters, birds such as sultana cock (Porphyrula martinica) or the agami heron (Agami Heron). Upon your arrival, we will go for a walk for the main trails of the rainforest.
  • Return to camp in Cocha Otorongo. During the evening, it will be possible to go for an optional walk.
  • Dinner and rest at the camp. It is a platform with roof, toilet and shower.

DAY 5

  • Breakfast.
  • Depart by boat to Colorado that is in Santa Rosa village. On the way it will be possible to observe flora, fauna and the economic activities of the place as collecting chestnuts, etc.
  • Arrival in Puerto Maldonado.
  • Dinner and rest in a hostel in Puerto Maldonado city.

DAY 6

  • After breakfast you will have free time.
  • Transfer to the airport.
  • At 11:00, return to Cusco by plane.
