Visit one of the most impressive and natural attractions of Peru, The National Park of Manu. It is located in the provinces of Paucartambo in Cusco and Manu in Madre de Dios. Connect with nature, in one of the most important areas of the planet for its mega-diversity of biological species. Enjoy the boating at night, feeling the voices of the forest; a unique experience of living in a natural wonder.

ITINERARY

This option is by land of going and by flight of coming back.

DAY 1

  • At 05:30 h, the guide will pick you up from the hotel.
  • At 07:00 h, bus departure to Paititi Lodge. On the way, you will visit the funerary towers or Chullpas of Ninamarca besides the cloud forest, where there are a lot of orchids, heliconias, cock of the rock (Rupicola peruviana), tragones (Trogon sp.) and the spectacled bear (Tremarctos ornatus). In the afternoon, arrival at the port of Atalaya, where you will board the boat that will take you towards Paititi lodge (the boating takes about 30 minutes).
  • Dinner and rest at the lodge.

DAY 2

  • Breakfast.
  • Depart by boat down the river Alto Madre de Dios up to camp Cocha Otorongo. On the way, you will observe turtles, White Caimans (Caiman crocodylus) or maybe some capybaras (hydrochaeris), etc. Once at the camp, you will go for a walk to get the lake and to the observation tower to see giant river otters.
  • Dinner and rest at the camp. It is a platform with roof, toilet and shower.

DAY 3

  • Breakfast.
  • Depart by boat for 30 minutes to Cocha Salvador. On the way, it will be possible to observe giant river otters, birds such as sultana cock (Porphyrula martinica) or the agami heron (Agami heron). Upon arrival you will go for a walk for the main trails of the rainforest and then return to the camp Cocha Otorongo.
  • During the evening, there will be an optional walk.
  • Dinner and rest at the camp. It is a platform with roof, toilet and shower.

DAY 4

  • Breakfast.
  • Depart to Boca Manu by boat, sailing the river Alto Madre de Dios to arrive at the camp where you will do an exploration walking tour for the different trails around the lodge.
  • Dinner and rest at the camp. It is a platform with roof, toilet and shower.

DAY 5

  • Breakfast.
  • Visit to Blanquillo to observe a lot of parrots and macaws that target very early the collpa in search of clay.
  • Depart by boat on the Madre de Dios River. On the way, you will observe the economic activities such as the collecting chestnuts, etc. In the afternoon, you will arrive at Puerto Colorado where you will take the bus to go to Puerto Maldonado.
  • Dinner and rest in a hostel in Puerto Maldonado city.

DAY 6

  • After breakfast, you will have free time to visit the observation tower and see woodcarving works.
  • Transfer to the Airport.
  • At 11:00 h, return to Cusco by plane.
