Visit one of the most impressive and natural attractions of Peru, The National Park of Manu. It is located in the provinces of Paucartambo in Cusco and Manu in Madre de Dios. Connect with nature, in one of the most important areas of the planet for its mega-diversity of biological species. Enjoy the boating at night, feeling the voices of the forest; a unique experience of living in a natural wonder.

ITINERARY

This option is with roundtrip land transportation.

DAY 1

  • At 05:30 h, you will be picked up from the hotel.
  • At 07:00 h, bus departure to Paititi Lodge. On the way, you will visit the funerary towers or Chullpas of Ninamarca besides the cloud forest, where there are a lot of orchids, heliconias, cock of the rock (Rupicola peruviana), tragones (Trogon sp.) and the spectacled bear (Tremarctos ornatus).
  • In the afternoon, arrive at the port of Atalaya. Upon your arrival, you will board the boat that will take you towards the lodge (the boating takes about 30 minutes).
  • Dinner and rest at the lodge.

DIA 2

  • Breakfast.
  • Depart by boat down the river Alto Madre de Dios. On the way, it will be possible the observation of a variety of birds, such as herons, kingfishers and the vultures, ever-present of which the most spectacular is the condor of the jungle, the vulture king (Sarcoramphus papa) and with some luck you will see the Jaguar, too (Panthera Onca). There will be a short break at the village of Boca Manu to then continue up to the lodge where we will go for a walk for the main trails of the rainforest.
  • Dinner and rest at the camp. It is a platform with roof, toilet and shower.

DAY 3

  • Breakfast.
  • Visit to Blanquillo to watch a lot of parrots and macaws that target very early the collpa in search of clay. Return to Boca Manu village.
  • In the afternoon, we will wander to explore the different trails around the lodge.
  • Dinner and rest.

DAY 4

  • Breakfast.
  • Depart to Cocha Otorongo by bote. On the way, it will be possible the observation of groups of turtles, white caimans (Caiman crocodylus) or maybe some capybaras (Hydrochaeris), etc. Arrive at the camp of Cocha Otorongo.
  • In the afternoon, go for a walk to get the lake and to visit the observation tower to see the giant river otters.
  • Dinner and rest at the camp. It is a platform with roof, toilet and shower.

DAY 5

  • Breakfast.
  • Depart to Cocha Salvador by boat (it takes about 30 minutes). During the boating you will observe giant river otters, birds such as sultana cock (Porphyrula martinica) or the agami heron (Agami Heron). Besides we will go for a walk for the main trails of the rainforest. Return to the camp in Otorongo.
  • In the evening, it will be possible to go for an optional walk.
  • Dinner and rest at the camp. It is a platform with roof, toilet and shower.

DAY 6

  • Breakfast.
  • Return to Boca Manu village. At night it will be possible to go for an optional walk.
  • Dinner and rest.

DAY 7

  • After breakfast, we will return by boat on the high river Madre de Dios, during the boating we will observe some birds among other animals.
  • Arrival at Paititi Lodge.
  • Dinner and rest.

DAY 8

  • After breakfast, we will board the boat to go to Atalaya village where we will change the transport and take the bus to Cusco (The journey takes about 12 hours).

Do not wait a travel partner. Only a few people dare to leave the comfort zone but remember the real rewards are abroad.
