DAY 1

  • Bus transfer to Puerto Bellavista Nanay (it takes about 30 minutes). During the trip will be explained about the customs of the jungle and issues such as the rubber boom. At the port, you will take a slider boat to the lodge navigating the Nanay and Amazon rivers observing the meeting of the waters which is the union of these rivers and with some luck will be possible the observation of pink or gray dolphins. Visit to the “Barrio Florido” where you will know the Paiche (Arapaima), the largest fish in the Amazon, lizards and the Victoria Amazonica that is a species of flowering plant, the largest of the Nymphaeaceae family of water lilies. The sailing will continue for the Nanay and Momon rivers. After it, visit to the Serpentarium, where you will observe animals of the area, as the boa anaconda, snakes, monkeys, wild cats and sloths, you can be photographed with them if desired.
  • Reception and welcome at the lodge. You will be invited to try a fruit drink of the region. After the explanation of your itinerary you will have lunch at the lodge. Besides, there will be free time to enjoy the facilities of the lodge. There are a swimming pool with a slide, jacuzzi, a lookout, or just relax on the balcony that has a great view of the Momon River from where you will watch the passing boats and wild birds, or go hiking or go boating.
  • After dinner, the guide will tell traditional legends about the pink dolphin (Inia geoffrensis); the whistle of the Tunche, and the Chullachaki of the jungle that are mythological characters of the Amazon.

DAY 2

  • At 05:30 h, you can take a canoe ride for an hour, to see the birds and hear them. After breakfast, visit to Piranha Park, it has five lakes , you can fish piranhas; go by kayak; observe monkeys; a variety of trees with long fibers; medicinal plants; the water lily Victoria Regia or the water lily.
  • Visit to the Trapiche to taste and see the typical elaboration of the sugar cane liquor and visit the riverine communities of Gen Gen and Centro Fuerte to know the customs of the people and their agriculture and fishing activities.
  • Visit the Botanical Garden “Chullachaqui” where there will be an explanation about medicinal plants and visit to the Almas tribe, they sell handicrafts made of seeds and local plants.
  • After dinner, we will go boating to hear the sound of nocturnal animals, insects, frogs, owls, birds, fishes, etc.

DAY 3

  • On the way of returning you will visit the tribe of the Boras, who will receive us with their traditional songs and dances, besides they will offer us their beautiful handicrafts. After it, visit the butterfly farm Pilpintuwasi in the Nanay River in the town of Padre Cocha.
  • Transfer to the airport or the hotel.
  • At the end of the tour If your flight is scheduled as one of the last and the weather is favorable, you will be offered an optional tour to the city of Iquitos to visit El Boulevard, the Plaza de Armas, the Cathedral, La Casa de Fierro, lake and zoo Quistococha. In this case, you should take the first flight to arrive in Iquitos and the last one to return to Lima.
  • For safety, the last entry of the boats to the Lodge must be at 15:00 hours, after this time, you should stay at any hotel in Iquitos city.
